Fertility Assessment
For women or couples who have been trying to conceive without success, a structured fertility assessment helps identify potential contributing factors and guides appropriate management or referral.
Fertility assessment services include:
- Ovarian reserve testing (AMH, antral follicle count)
- Hormonal profile (FSH, LH, oestradiol, prolactin, thyroid function)
- Ovulation tracking and cycle analysis
- Pelvic ultrasound to assess uterine and ovarian anatomy
- Hysteroscopy if uterine cavity evaluation is indicated
- Early referral coordination to fertility treatment specialists when required
When Should You Seek a Fertility Assessment?
Current clinical guidelines recommend seeking evaluation after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse in women under 35, and after 6 months in women 35 years and older. However, earlier assessment is appropriate when there are known risk factors such as PCOS, irregular cycles, endometriosis, previous pelvic infection, or previous treatment affecting fertility.
Fertility and PCOS
PCOS is among the most common identifiable causes of ovulatory dysfunction and fertility challenges in women. Dr. Ruby Rashmi has specific expertise in managing the fertility implications of PCOS, providing both hormonal management and ovulation optimisation strategies within her practice.
